Athletics Program

Mount de Sales Academy has a long history of fielding competitive teams and winning state championships. Our athletic program is student-centered, and we encourage our athletes to participate in a variety of sports. Our coaching staff develops committed athletes and inspires young men and women to become outstanding citizens with knowledge, character, and discipline. While we strive to win each athletic contest, the positive impact on the lives of our students is far more important than the final score of a game.

Mount de Sales competes in the Georgia High School Association, Class A. This year our softball team won the state championship for Class A Private Fast Pitch. Our football team was undefeated and region champions, and our wrestling team won the region duals championship for the third year in a row. Keith Hatcher was named the region coach and the region AD of the year while Katherine Smith and Danielle Adams were named softball coach and assistant of the year by the Georgia Dugout Club. It’s great to be a Cavalier!

Through a partnership with Piedmont Orthopaedics, we provide our teams with a full-time, certified athletic trainer. Amanda Windon is present for games and select practices. She is available to evaluate, treat, and assist student-athletes with rehabilitation at our training room at Cavalier Fields and by appointment at the main campus. Mount de Sales’ athletes may also be evaluated for injuries at Piedmont Orthopaedics (4660 Riverside Drive) from 9 a.m. until 12 noon during the week.

We are the mighty Cavaliers, and our mascot is Monty.
